this is the school for you.
The two day school covers all that you will need to know to get started in fly fishing.  We cover the selection of fly fishing equipment (including fly lines, rods, reels, leaders, etc.)  You will be learning all the basic fishing knots, how to locate fish in a stream or lake, what the fish feed on, basic fly selection, how to fish the basic flies, fishing etiquette and most of all how to fly cast well enough to catch fish.
All classes include a textbook.  In addition, you will have access to several fly fishing and fly casting videos and DVD”s.  All fly fishing equipment is provided for your use, but if you have your own tackle, please bring it.
The Montana School of  Fly Fishing is located in  Bozeman Montana - literally the hub of some of the best trout fishing in our country.  There are numerous rivers, creeks, ponds and lakes in every direction.
     The
Gallatin River Lodge (one of the finest fly fishing/dining guest lodges in the area) is host to the school.  Some  classes will be taught at Moose Creek Cabins in West Yellowstone as well..

Schedule for Classes
Cost for the school
Fly fishing classes are held throughout the year on weekdays and weekends.  We recommend that you schedule your class between June 1st and October 10th - for the most reliable weather and fishing conditions.  Spring and winter trout fishing can be very good in Montana, but the weather is not as predictable.  Classes are six hours long each day.  Class hours and times vary with each season.  Please call for the current class schedule.
